Warm ochre and muted gold move across Remnants III, creating a surface that feels sun-worn, mineral-rich and shaped by time. Against a softened ivory ground, layers of earthy pigment gather and dissolve, revealing cracks, marks and fragments beneath.
There is warmth within this work that distinguishes it from the cooler pieces in the series. Its golden tones suggest light moving across weathered land — illuminating the imperfections, erosion and traces embedded within the surface.
Part of the Remnants series, the painting reflects on the way time alters rather than simply erases. What remains becomes part of something new, carrying its history forward through texture, colour and form.
